The Association of Muslim Chaplains is honored to host our retreat named in memory of our dear brother, Sohaib Sultan. Open to institutionally recognized and retired AMC members, along with their families, the retreat offers spiritual renewal, professional development, and time in nature.

What is the Sohaib Sultan Suhba Chaplains’ Retreat?

This is the 4th annual retreat organized by the Association of Muslim Chaplains to provide spiritual nourishment and professional development for Muslim chaplains. It is named in memory of Sohaib Sultan (Allah yerhamo), a pioneering Muslim chaplain.

Who can attend?

The retreat is open to institutionally recognized and retired AMC members, along with their families.

What is the schedule and program?

The retreat will be held over 3 nights and 4 days, from July 30 – August 2, 2026. Please plan to arrive by 3 PM MDT on Thursday, July 30th. The program will include: workshops and discussions on topics relevant to chaplaincy; opportunities for spiritual rejuvenation through acts of worship and quiet contemplation; recreational activities for families; and communal meals. The program will conclude on the morning of Sunday, August 2nd.

Where is it located? What are the accommodations like?

The retreat will be held at the Limelight Hotel in Snowmass Village, Colorado (65 Wood Rd, Snowmass Village, CO 81615). Accommodations are double occupancy rooms at the Limelight Hotel. Meals are included.

What are the travel logistics?

Please plan to arrive at Denver International Airport (DEN). AMC will provide transportation from Denver airport to the retreat location for those arriving before 3 PM MDT on Thursday, July 30th. Return transportation to Denver airport will depart by 11 AM MDT on Sunday, August 2nd. Flight information must be received by July 1st to be eligible for transportation.

What does it include?

The Individual Ticket includes: accommodations in a double occupancy room at the Limelight Hotel, meals throughout the retreat (dinner Thu, July 30th to breakfast Sun, August 2nd), transportation from Denver airport, transportation to day excursions, return transportation to Denver airport, group programs and activities, and unlimited tea/chai/çay.

Are scholarships or fee waivers available?

Limited scholarships and fee waivers may be available based on need. Please email opsmanager@muslimchaplains.net.

Can I bring my family? Are there activities for children?

Yes! To support Sohaib's (rA) vision of a family-friendly program, AMC welcomes the families of chaplains. AMC will provide childcare during certain times of the retreat. If you are traveling with your spouse only, please purchase two individual tickets. If you are a family of 3 or more, please reach out to opsmanager@muslimchaplains.net for registration instructions.

Are meals provided? Are there options for dietary restrictions?

Yes, all meals are included starting with dinner on Thursday through breakfast on Sunday. Please indicate any dietary needs or restrictions (beyond halal/zabiha) during registration so accommodations can be made.

Please indicate any mobility, dietary or health needs during registration so we can make necessary accommodations. Important: The retreat venue is at a high altitude in Colorado (approximately 8,500 ft) and may be uncomfortable or challenging for people with certain health conditions. Please make sure the venue is suitable for you and your party before registering.

Are there opportunities for quiet reflection and worship?

Yes, there will be time allotted each day for optional acts of worship such as prayers, Qur’an recitation, and dhikr.

Will there be a cap on attendance and will it sell out?

Capacity for this retreat will be limited. We anticipate high demand, so we recommend registering as early as possible.

Is there an age minimum or maximum for attendees?

There is no official age minimum or maximum, however, the retreat workshops and sessions will be primarily focused on topics relevant for chaplains.

What is the refund policy?

Cancellations before 6/26/26 will be fully refunded; cancellations between 6/27/26 and 7/10/26 will be refunded at 50% of the amount paid; after 7/10/26 we will be unable to provide a refund.
